Almost EVERYTHING is 1/2 price at CAP thrift on Thursday! Did you know it made "best thrift store in Houston" on the Deborah Duncan show?

Here are two dogs looking for home thru CAP-Citizens for Animal Protection, the shelter that the thrift store supports. (In fact 100% of the proceeds benefit homeless dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, turtles, ferrets and other small animals.)

Penni (above) is a stunning 6 year old, whose original  independent rescuer died and CAP took on three of her dogs. Due to her illness she was unable to exercise her dogs, so Penni is now on Doggie Weight Watchers and making good progress. She is at CAP waiting for her perfect home, ask for her foster mom, Barbara, who is a manager there. 281-497-0591

This is Domino at Copperfield Grooming "before". He was an adopter return in dire need of grooming. Kat the owner has donated the grooming on many CAP fosters over the years, immensely helping the dogs find their permanent homes faster.

TWO 1/2 price days at CAP thrift this week

Both Friday for Chinese New Year and Sunday for football spouses, CAP thrift store  is having 1/2 price days.

They had a record breaking month in December for sales: more customers means more people hearing about the store and so donations continue to increase.  You can help by spreading the word.

 There are specials every day; stop in to get the February calendar.

 There are items in every category from kitchen to designer clothes, shoes, books, art work and fun things outside!


The three pieces of furniture shown here just came in so haven't even been priced. They are featured to show the quality of items that get donated to benefit homeless pets. (A few things are not ever half price and furniture has to be in for 30 days to be considered.)

 People get in line before 10 am when it's 1/2 price day so be warned:)....Everything, with just a few exceptions(maybe 4 items over 100.00) are marked down. Below are some new doggie items from a closed store... All prices are current price, if still there on Saturday, will be 75% off!

These dachshunds and some other breeds  are on metal plates suitable for hanging, also magnetized. Prices range from 20.00 down to 8.00. (not so good photoo quality is operators fault)

1/2 price day SATURDAY and SUNDAY at CAP thrift store!

 Wow, what a sale! Be in line at 10 am Sat to start saving money and support shelter animals like Peanut here and Sweetie below.

1/2 off on just about everything in the store and did you know they even have dressing rooms?

Items come in every day, it's exciting to see the new things. It's also exciting to watch folks when they find something they have been looking for or are surprised with a good deal on something they hadn't even thought about. Become a regular, we like them!

Peanut above is still waiting for his permanent home, he is about 6 lbs and has 2 less than perfect knees but gets around just fine. An angel vet donated his neuter, thankfully.

Sweetie the pit mix truly fits her name and just got adopted at CAP. Dr Randlett at Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic donated her spay, our many thanks to her.

Beautiful furniture in year end donations at CAP thrift store

There is a wide variety of furniture styles and prices currently at the thrift and variety is one of the main reasons we shop!


This loveseat is a modest 40.00



Isn't this table stunning? The bottom shelf is a heavy mirror and the top glass is also very heavy. The donors said its original cost was 1500.00, it's 600.00 at the thrift. Not a scratch anywhere and its quality shows with a closeup view.



This desk is only 80.00 and would pair nicely with the oval table below.



This lovely dresser has a mirror surrounded by wood attached to it; a better picture can be sent by request. I can visualize this also being repurposed as a desk and the mirror mounted on a wall nearby. 125.00



This dresser/jewelry  topper has been relisted as I gave the wrong price-it is only 60.00.

The thrift store has only 2 multi, multi,(LOTS) tasking employees; a dedicated cadre of volunteers also puts in many hours keeping up with all of the incoming and outgoing items.

The thrift store is open 7 days a week as well.

Ellen is the expert on hanging pictures and Olga does many of the specialized displays and is the color coordinator. Keith helps with many of the heavier items and assembly. Volunteers are always welcome, a variety of tasks are needed.

Great Thanksgiving meal accessories at CAP thrift store

This petite themed gravy boat is perfect for small holiday get togethers. Ladle opening is in the back. This is only 9.00!

This serving tray is decorative as well as sturdily functional and only 10.00.

These vibrant colors owe nothing to the photographer or camera; these medium sized plates are really that eye popping! Equally eye popping, they are only 2.00 each. The smaller square leafed saucers/coasters/multipurpose pieces in the back are also only 2.00 each as well.

These gold chargers are simple in design, so can be easily paired with other chargers in gold or other colors. They are only 8.00 because there are only 7 of them, so a great buy for a small gathering.

This fall/Thanksgiving arrangement is only 30.00

Hurry to the CAP thrift store to grab those last minute touches to a perfect Thanksgiving Day meal.

Luxury in a thrift store? You bet, at CAP thrift store!

 This sofa is absolutely stunning! I wonder what the donor move UP to, if this was recycled. It is in excellent condition and not going to be marked down, so find a truck and hurry to get this jewel! The camera did not capture the richness of this sofa..or maybe the camera operator.....400.00



This unusual pictorial rendering of a parrot did not come in with the sofa but would look great above it or near it. It is only 80.00 and is as stunning as the sofa.
It is high up on a back wall at the thrift store so look for it and see how well
the pairing would be. It is difficult to showcase the quality of paintings, pictures and mirrors in a photograph, this needs a personal visit.

Several regular customers collect shell items so I hope they see these shadow boxes. On the back wall above the stacked pictures and frames, they are 8.00 and 10.00.

For all of you animal lovers out there, here are lots of collectibles in a range of prices. The best part is, none of them need heartworm or flea prevention or even litter boxes!

Sunday Nov 6 is 1/2 price day! Most items really 1/2 price.

Also the thrift store will be collecting dry puppy and kitten food for the shelter pets from now until Thanksgiving, please help feed an orphan.
